Joe (Bavier), Ani and Susi

I wish I could post that Joe, Susi and Ani were going to make it to Lake Lure.  Joe had emailed me way back on Jan. 24 about Lake Lure; and he had hopes that they'd be able to make it this year.  But I got another email from him on May 31st telling me that they just weren't going to be able to.  I don't think he'd mind, and so I've shared his email (below).

NOTE:  The pic is courtesy of Glenda.  I'd emailed Joe recently and asked for a pic; but who knows where in the world he is right now.  And so I hadn't yet heard back from him.  But "mom" stepped in with a really terrific pic..."at home in Dresden".

JOE'S EMAIL:

Hi Bob...I don't think I'll be able to make it this year. I've been on the road a lot (a month in Nigeria in May and now a month in Congo). Then I'll be moving around again in August. Thanks for the invite though. And let me know if you ever have any plans to come over to Germany. Mom came over with Hilda last year and they had a great time. She's looking into coming again in the fall, and she's always up for a travel companion.
